My tribute to one of my favourite books: Pride & Prejudice by wonderful Jane Austen. ^_^

This girl is not meant to be Lizzy Bennett, it's just about the "idea" of Mr. Darcy and the story of them - a longing for such a great male character.

And I might as well enquire why,
with so evident a design of insulting me,
you chose to tell me that you liked me against your better judgment."


Unfortunately, the original novel doesn't contain all these nice quotations like the movie from 2005, but it's one of the most romantic book I've ever read!
(Btw, Matthew McFadyen seems always to be sad ... his glance gives me that fragile feeling ... I've never seen that before, enchanting.)

Just a wonderfully beautiful painting. Atmospheric and meaningful. I know what you mean about his glances. When he realizes he just said or acted the wrong way, the regret is so evident in a little look or his body language... I just absolutely loved him in P&P even though it was a departure from the book. I'm working on a sculpt of him to go with my Keira/Elizabeth repaint in the ballroom clothing for my own personal collection!

BEAUTIFUL! I never actually read the book, but have been considering it for a while. Loved the Matthew/Kiera version movie- by far my favorite! I've seen all of the P&P versions ever made. I agree that Matthew added a level to the character that made me love him more than any other! You should read the sequels to P&P by Linda Berdoll. The first one is "Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife." It is MUCH more than a little racy, but it is also a trilogy that I could not put down and sexuality takes a backseat in the second and third books.

This is fantastic!!! The colors and textures of all the fabrics look GREAT here, and I love the expression on her face as she looks over her shoulder at us. Very lovely!

Personally it doesn't make me think of P&P but I must recognize it's a very pretty picture.
